A taxi driver was threatened with a gun after requesting a fare be paid early Sunday in Pitt Meadows.
Ridge Meadows RCMP were called to the area of 191 Street and 124 Avenue around 3:20 a.m. March 20. The taxi driver was just dropping off his fare, two males and one female, on 191 Street. After requesting the fare be paid, police said one of the males produced a handgun and the trio walked away towards a group of townhomes.
The suspects had been picked up by the cab at approximately 3:10 a.m. in the 2100-block of Fraser Avenue in Port Coquitlam.
“Police responded immediately to this incident utilizing the Integrated Police Dog Services," said Cpl. Brenda Winpenny.
The suspects were not located.
"Thankfully the victim was not injured during the incident,” Winpenny added.
The first suspect is described as a Caucasian man in his 20s, 5'9" with a medium build. He was wearing a white hoody with the hood pulled up.
The second is also a Caucasian man in his 20s. He is also 5'9" with a thin build, and buzz-cut-style hair. He was wearing a black hoody.
The third is a Caucasian woman in her 20s, 5'9" with a heavy build. She was wearing a black hoody.

Man acting suspiciously indentified
Ridge Meadows RCMP have identified a man who was seen acting suspiciously Friday in Maple Ridge.
Police were called to a residential area of 235th Street around noon on Mar. 18 after a man in a white SUV was seen talking to a child.
The man, who was not known to the child, had called out to the girl through his passenger-side window. He asked the girl to come closer to the SUV, which caused the girl to back away and a neighbour intervened.
The man then casually drove away.
“The young girl did everything right by walking away when she became unsure of what the man’s intentions were," said RCMP Cpl. Brenda Winpenny said. "Through the quick thinking of the neighbours, police have been able to identify the man, and speak with him concerning this incident."
There was no crime committed in this case, she added.
"However, it is a good example of child safety and serves as a reminder to parents to have these conversations with their children.”
