A candidates debate and a coffee and gab session will give local voters three opportunities to judge who will make the best Member of Parliament on May 2.

Maple Ridge Public library hosts a meet and greet Tuesday, April 19 from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Voters can drop by, pick up some pamphlets and ask questions of the four who want to represent them in the House of Commons.

Randy Kamp is seeking re-election for the Conservatives, Craig Speirs is running for the NDP, Peter Tam is running for the Green party and Mandeep Bhuller is representing the Liberals.

In Maple Ridge, the Whonnock Community Association and the chamber of commerce are hosting a debate on Wednesday, April 27, just a few days before the election.

Time for that is 7 p.m to 9 p.m., at Whonnock Lake Centre at 27871–113th Ave.

Candidates each will have five minutes for a speech and two minutes for rebuttal followed by question and answer. For more information on that event, contact Phil Johnson at 604-970-6957.
