Two people were taken to hospital – one by air ambulance – after a crash in Maple Ridge.
Maple Ridge firefighters raced to the scene on 240 Street at Kanaka Creek after receiving a call just after 1 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 8, for a rescue motor vehicle incident between a SUV and a motorcycle – in addition to the Ridge Meadows RCMP and BC Emergency Health Services.
Four ambulances, a supervisor, and an air ambulance responded to the incident, said Joshua Grant with the Provincial Health Services Authority.
He said paramedics cared for and transported two patients to hospital.
“One patient was transported by air ambulance to hospital in critical condition. Another patient was transported to hospital by ground ambulance in serious condition,” noted Grant.
A third patient was assessed on scene but was not transported to hospital.
The driver of the SUV remained on scene and was cooperating with police.
240 Street was closed for several hours while police investigated.
They were expecting the road to be fully open again at about 6 p.m.
