Maple Ridge will continue to see partial and full road closures on some of its roads.

Starting Feb. 18, until Feb. 25, the roads department will be completing pothole repairs on 203 Street between 116B Avenue and Patterson Avenue and a partial road closure will be in effect. Crews and flagging personnel will be on site from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

A partial road closure on Feb. 22 at the intersection of 128 Avenue and 216 Street will take place from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This will be in relation to the Capital Watermain Replacement project.

The actual Capital Watermain Replacement project is set to start from Feb. 25 and will last until Mar. 18, leading to a partial road closure on 216 Street between 124 Avenue and 128 Avenue. The crews will be working on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The city is urging commuters to prepare for delays and follow traffic personnel on-site. The project will result in single lane, alternating traffic.

A partial road closure which came into effect on Jan. 18, will continue until Feb. 25 on Dewdney Trunk Rd. between 230 Street and 240 Street. This work would however be weather dependent.

The full road closure for the installation of sanitary infrastructure on 112 Avenue for the North East Albion development, will continue until Feb. 28, between 244 Street and 246 Street. 112 Avenue (between Lockwood Avenue and 252 Street) and Lockwood Avenue, will remain open but with intermittent single lane alternating traffic and minor delays.

The city had also announced a full road closure at the intersection of 280 Street and 112 Avenue on Dec. 1, 2021. This closure will remain in place until further notice, however, according to a Feb. 17 update, the city’s engineering department is expediting a design for the removal and replacement of the existing culvert. The timeline for the reconstruction could be as late as this summer, once the flows are minimal and environmental approvals are resolved. The city is also looking to have the culvert structurally assessed to possibly open the road to one lane of traffic until the replacement of the damaged culvert is completed.
