Agnes Johnston (nee Ord)

July 21,1923 - July 15, 2017

Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, Agnes came to Canada as a war bride in 1947 and settled in southern Ontario, where she began a very successful career of working with children with special needs and volunteering in other programs for children. She came to Maple Ridge in 2007 to live with her daughter after the death of her husband. In her final years, Alzheimer’s took so many of Agnes’s memories, but it could not take her love of children, family, the English language and her artistic talents. Agnes will be dearly missed by so many whose lives she touched, but she is now reunited with her husband ‘Bill’, son ‘Les’, sister ‘Nan’ and many other relatives and friends. Agnes will be laid to rest in Lindsay, Ontario beside her husband. Agnes is survived by her son Donald (Barb) Johnston, daughter Wendy (Tim) Blaine, daughter-in-law Janet Johnston, 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many other relatives. Many thanks to the wonderful staff at Maple Ridge Seniors Village for their support to Agnes and our family.
