FOURNIER, Albert Joseph
June 19, 1914 ~ Sept. 29, 2006
Passed away peacefully at Bailey House extended care in Maple Ridge, BC.
Predeceased by loving wife of 62 years Doreen Fournier, daughter Arlene Trotman, son David Fournier, brother Romeo Fournier, sister Juliette Henderson, brother George Fournier, mother Gertrude Fournier, father Pop Fournier.
He is survived by his three children ~ sons Barry Fournier, Donald Fournier, daughter Judy Young (Dan), daughter-in-law Sandy Fournier, 12 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 1 great grandchild on the way, sisters Jeanine Franklin, Shirley Beecroft, sister-in-law Mary Fournier.
Thank you to Marc and Lisa who came to see grampa Albert quite often over these last 6 years. He really enjoyed you both.
Dad was born in Cloverdale, B.C., June 19, 1914. Later they moved to Hammond Hotel. This is were he met his loving wife Doreen of 62 years. They moved to Port Moody for at least 25 years. They spent their last 15 years together at Meadowlands Housing Co-op in Pitt Meadows.
Albert had a stroke in 1998, he lived with Judy & Dan till 2000.
He moved to Creekside extended care in Aug, 2000 after a second stroke in Sept, 2006 he moved to the new Bailey House ~ (Websters Corners) extended care. Where he spent the last 9 days of his life.
Some of the staff had been with dad from day one.
They were his extended family. We would like to thank the staff at Creekside ~ Webster's Corners for the wonderful care they gave dad.
Thanks to Dr. Walton for taking such good care of dad.
Dad we will miss that wonderful sense of humor you had, and your whistling that drove some crazy and some such joy.
Rest in Peace.
