Alexander Maitland DAVIDSON

DAVIDSON, Alexander Maitland born July 9th, 1921 in Vancouver, B.C. passed away peacefully at home in Pitt Meadows, B.C. on October 4th, 2005 (84 yrs) after a lengthy battle with cancer. Alex leaves to mourn, his loving wife of 55 years, Jean and his very treasured children- Sandy (Darryl) Page, Alex, Bob (Debbie), Zena (Doug) Gillam & Laurel (Roy) Hafeli. His 12 grandchildren & 5 great grandchildren: Birk (Sam) Lockwood w/Alexis & Kevin, Chuck w/Sabrina & Cole, Chris (Alison) w/Edwin, Philip& Michael Page; Kevin Davidson; Jason, Tom, Shawn & Laurelyn Gillam; Ken & Christina Hafeli. He also leaves his sisters Zena Lewis & Bernice (Alan) Barclay of California; as well as many nieces, nephews & extended family & friends. He was predeceased by his sister Bea. Alex grew up in Vancouver then served over-seas in World War II as a mechanic. He was well known as a West Coast fisherman on his 42’ troller the Zena-D, which he built after the war. Alex married the love of his life, Jean, and the two of them moved to Gibsons to raise their children until settling in the Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows area for the last 33 years where they took great pride & joy in their ever expanding family. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Tuesday October 11th at 1:00 pm in St John the Divine Anglican Church at Laity & River Rd, Maple Ridge. In lieu of flowers donations to the Maple Ridge Hospital Foundation or a charity of your choice would be appreciated
