1929-2021 ~ On July 3, 2021 Andy went into the arms of his Lord and Saviour at the age of 91. Andy was born in 1929 in Rinsumageest a small northern village in Holland. Andy immigrated to Canada in 1950.
Andy made his home in Pitt Meadows, he was hired as a farmhand on Mason's Farm and later travelled to Dawson Creek to work in the gold mines, in 1957 he met the love of his life, Anke, and they married in 1959 and made Maple Ridge their home. Andy found a job at Flavelle Cedar Mill in Port Moody where he worked for 31 years.
Andy was a devoted family man who loved the Lord. He enjoyed his leisure time travelling with loved ones. He loved gardening and making wine.
He is predeceased by his son Howard, he is survived by his wife Anke, his children Louis, Traci (Darren) and David, grandchildren Melissa (Travis), Nicole (Samuel), Kristy (James), Julia (Jamie), his brother Harry Kingma in Edmonton and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service was held on Saturday July 10, 2021 at the Maple Ridge Christian Reformed Church, 20245 Dewdney Trunk Road with Tim Sheridan officiating. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Leukemia Foundation.
