Angus John Sciankowy

June 22, 1936 - August 3, 2008

It is with deepest sorrow that we must announce the passing of Angus Sciankowy. Born in Gilbert Plains Manitoba, Angus came to Vancouver in 1957 with little more than the shirt on his back. It was here that he met his dear wife Bridget. He is finally resting in her loving arms. Angus leaves behind to mourn his brother Bill, sisters Sophie, Ann, Vicky and Sylvia as well as Stella (deceased). He will be greatly missed by his children Craig (Simone) and Susan (Ken) as well as his grandchildren Nick, Brennan, Kurtis (his angel), Dilon, Cody and Melissa, and his great grandchildren Allisa and Ethan.

Angus worked hard thoughout his life. At times working three jobs to ensure his children had all the pleasures in life. He ended his career doing what he enjoyed most, working at Eburne Saw Mill as a heavy duty mechanic. His greatest pleasures were the camping trips with his family, the fishing trips and boon docking in Arizona in his motor home. Angus was a special person to many, always there to offer advise or a helping hand when needed. He was a father, a friend, and a mentor. His kindness and strength will be thought of often. Angus fought hard to be with us, surviving cancer several times (including liver and stomach cancer eight years ago), and getting back on his feet from multiple heart attacks. There will forever be a hole left in our hearts, but Angus will continue to live on in our memories.

Rest comfortably Dad.

We'll love you forever.
