HENRI, Arthur Gilbert. Surrounded by his loving family, passed away peace- fully at the Langley Memorial Hospital on Saturday April 16, 2011. Art was born in San Francisco, California, on August 7, 1920, and raised in the Duncan, Langley and Maple Ridge areas. Predeceased by his brother Norman, he is survived by Pat, his loving wife of 60 years, his son David and daughter-in-law Rose, grandchildren Matthew (Sandy), Mark (Meaghan) and Stephen. He leaves, also, his great-grand children Kai and Evelyn; his remaining brother Herb (Margie); five nephews and many dear friends. Art served our country in Europe during WWII, as an engineer with the Royal Canadian Army (The Fighting Fifth Sappers). Upon his return, he worked in his trade as a brick layer, then worked in television repair, and retired from the Alberta Wheat Pool. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Br. 21 in Langley, at the time of his death. A memorial service will be held at the branch (20570 - 56th Avenue) on Sunday May 15th at 1:30 p.m. Everyone who knew him is welcome to attend. Donations can be made in Art's memory to either The Koksilah School Historical Society (Duncan) or Br.21 Royal Canadian Legion. FIRST MEMORIAL
