With sadness, cherished memories, and love in our hearts we regrettably announce the sudden passing of our father, husband, grandfather and friend, Barry Ian Wayne McMillan. Barry is survived and will be fondly remembered by his wife, Gay, his children, Kelly (Ken), Brian (Clare), Michael (Jen), Kelly (Clint), his brothers, Dean and Terry (Eileen), and his grandchildren, Jacob (who thinks his grandpa is a genius), Isaac, Oscar and Emmett. He is predeceased by his father, Don, his mother, Inga, and his brothers Donald and Wayne.
Barry was born in Regina, Saskatchewan and spent most of his career on the open waters of the BC coast, first in the Navy and later as a Mariner, which is of course why he chose to spend his retirement in the Arizona desert where he and Gay would travel to every winter.
Barry's last couple of years were difficult as he struggled with Parkinson's but, in true Barry fashion, he never complained once. Not once! Barry was 78 years old when he passed suddenly at home surrounded by family. He brought us all together...and we will love him forever.
In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Parkinson's Society of BC https://www.parkinson.bc.ca/
