April 4, 2006

NOTSCHKE ~ Bernice Harriet(nee Simmons)

Passed away on the 4th of April, 2006. The past 5 years have been a long, hard battle for Bernice but she faced it with the positive attitude that she so naturally possessed. Even leading up to her death, Bernice could not change who she was – a fighter.

Bernice was born in Vernon, B.C. to John and Fanny (Cook) Simmons on the 31st of March, 1926. Bernice passed away at the age of 80. Bernice is survived by her son Peter, his dear wife Lori and step-son Leon. Eldest daughter Susan and her dear husband Martin. Youngest daughter Brenda and her dear husband Brian and their two daughters Alison and Emily. Bernice was predeceased by her dear husband John, whom she was married to for 53 years, and by her father, mother, two brothers; Clarence and George and sister Zeta. Bernice will be sadly missed by her children, grand- daughters, grandson, her brother, sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews and her dear friends and neighbours. Our many thanks to Dr. D.G. McNeill and the staff of Ridge Meadows Hospital for all the kindness they have shown throughout the years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.

No service, at Bernice’s request.
