SCHELL, Bertha (nee Manke)
On May 30th, 2010 passed peacefully in her sleep. She was a resident of Maple Ridge for 17 years and Port Coquitlam for 40 years prior. She was predeceased by her husband Cecil Edward Schell whom she has missed dearly for 28 years. Also her first granddaughter Anita Jean in 1964, 9 brothers and 4 sisters. Bertha was the seventh of 16 siblings and is survived by brother Edward Manke in Edmonton and sister Lydia Strecheniuk in Kitimat, BC. She is also survived by daughters Diana (Gordon) Briere of Maple Ridge and Linda (Dennis) Murphy of Salmon Arm; 2 grand daughters Charlene (Brad) Pears of Kelowna, Gena (Eric) Marcotte of Salmon Arm, 3 grandsons Duane (Laura) Allen, Gord (Lisa) Briere and Jeff both of Maple Ridge. The loves of her life, 3 great grandsons Morgan, Donovan and Corben, and a very special great granddaughter Reille, the apple of her eye. A Memorial Service will be held Monday, June 14th at 1pm at the Highway Church, 21746 Lougheed Hwy., Maple Ridge. In Bertha’s honor, please donate to the Salvation Army or Children’s Hospital.
