In Loving Memory ~

Born in Dublin, Ireland on July 2, 1938. Betty passed away incredibly peacefully in Maple Ridge, surrounded by her family, on August 29, 2024.

Betty was predeceased by her beloved husband David in 2011. Also predeceased by her siblings Fred Lewis, Joe Lewis and Margaret O'Leary.

Lovingly remembered by her children Sandra (Cliff), David, Claudine (Steve) and Justin (Rachael), her grandchildren, Darah (Cam), Matt (Jenelle), Brandon (Daniela), Kallisté, Enzo, Cadence, Jem, Danika, Deanne (Mitch) and her great-grandchildren Oliver and Parker, her siblings Harry Lewis and Marie Clarke, and extended family and friends.

Our parents met at a Halloween party in 1959 and Dad instantly knew Mom was the lady he was going to marry. They married in 1961 and were married for over 50 years.

In 1981, Betty and David immigrated to Canada with their four children. This was an incredible journey for our family and one we deeply appreciate. Ireland was always in Mom's heart.

Betty was determined and tenacious, stylish and economical and fiercely independent, living on her own until age 85.

Betty was an excellent cook (she always reminded us), loved to garden, was gifted at interior design, liked to give advice, enjoyed watching the news and 'her shows,' loved to 'do her nails,' and go for coffee, happy to discuss politics and the news of the day and chat about real estate (our Dad's profession). A seamstress extraordinaire, she's designed and created her own clothes her whole life.

Betty adored dressing up, going out and charming old and new friends alike.

Mom supported Dad's entrepreneurial spirit and real estate endeavours and successes, as well as worked at Irene Hill/Just Petites as a successful retail clothing Manager. She loved to help other women dress up and look their best self.

Betty loved to listen to music, Tina Turner and Neil Diamond were favourites.

Betty loved to dance with her husband David and was always "dressed to the nines."

We believe they are dancing together now, finally reunited.

Our family would like to thank the supportive staff at Ridge Meadows Hospital and Maple Ridge Seniors Village for doing their best for our Mom.

No service by request.
