CHRISTENSEN, Beulah Maud (nee McDougall)

Born May 5, 1907 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Beulah Maud Christensen went to be with her Lord peacefully May 20, 2010 at Holyrood Manor, Maple Ridge. Beulah was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Anker in 1991, her daughter Ruth, her daughters-in-law Margaret and Helena, and her granddaughter Jennifer. She is survived by her four sons Anker, Stewart (Marilynn), Bruce (April), and Jim, and two brothers Murray (Ruth) & Alex (Marg), McDougall, 9 grandchildren, 13 great -grandchildren, 1 great-great- grandchild and numerous nephews and nieces. Beulah moved to Vancouver in 1910. She graduated from Burnaby South High School. The family then moved to Maple Ridge in 1923. She taught Japanese children at a kindergarten in Maple Ridge until her marriage to Anker in 1936. They moved into their house in Hammond and she lived in the same house until 1995 raising the boys and helping out at the family meat market. She was always very involved with her church and had a deep faith in God. For many years she served in the church nursery with young ones, a task she really enjoyed. Her knowledge was legendary and she was always coming up with something new that we had not heard before right to the end. There will be a tea where people can come to remember Beulah at Maple Ridge Baptist Church, 22155 Lougheed Highway, Maple Ridge on June 5, 2010 at 11 AM. Special thanks to Dr. Chapman for his wonderful care over the years and also all of the staff at Holyrood Manor for their excellent care in her last three years. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Gideons. Condolences may be sent to: www.mapleridgefuneral.ca
