Bonnie June Little - passed away December 26th, 2020 due to ongoing health issues. Mourning her loss are her children, Chuck (Dana); Lorri (Greg McLean); and Kris (Carly); grandchildren Amy (Chris Malcolmson), Grady, Jolene and Delaney McLean; her sister Judy (Jim Heaton) and sister in law Nancy Jarmson, as well as a large extended family.
Bonnie was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Bill Little, parents Dorothy and Jay Harper, brother Jim Jarmson, and grandson Brian Little.
Bonnie was born May 1, 1941 in Youbou on Vancouver Island. Her family moved to Port Alberni and lived there for several years before making the move to the lower mainland, settling in Port Hammond.
She married Bill in 1959 and raised their family in the "big house" at the corner of Maple Crescent and Westfield Street, a gathering place for family and friends alike. Bonnie was instrumental in implementing the Brownies/Girl Guides and Cubs/Scouts groups in the Hammond Elementary School. Although heavily involved in these activities, she was always available to drive for school field trips and sports events with a smile.
Singing was a participation sport in her vehicle! Once the kids were grown, Bonnie took her love of children and driving to the next level, becoming a school bus monitor and spare driver. She developed many long term friendships with co-workers as well as students and their families.
Always a skilled seamstress, she also enjoyed spending her spare time knitting, crocheting and needlework, making many gifts for friends and family. Her lively participation at the weekly Meat Draws held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 88 and at Shooters Pub will be missed by many.
Bonnie will be fondly remembered for her love of country music, rescued cats, and Oh Henry bars. The family extends a big thank you to the staff of the PATH unit at the Ridge-Meadows Hospital and also the staff and friends she reconnected with at Baillie House.
