EGAN, BRIAN DONALDSON (Don)

Don Egan was born in Montreal, Quebec on July 29, 1918 and passed away in Victoria, BC on April 20, 2008. He moved to Vancouver at an early age and grew up in the West End and Shaughnessy neighbourhoods. He later joined the RCAF and served during WWII, including stations at Boundary Bay and Alaska. After the war he went to work as a real estate salesman for Kingsway Real Estate in Vancouver. In 1954 he moved to Haney, BC, where he opened his own business, Egan Realty Ltd., in 1957. He lived for 50 years on the South Alouette River - watching the river flow - and enjoying life to the fullest. Late in life, he moved to Prince George and then to Victoria. He is survived by his daughter Donna-Mae McShane (Lan) of Abbotsford and son Rob Egan (Sania Poluch) of Victoria. Also survived by his grandson Brian McShane (Lisa) of Yellowknife, NWT and granddaughter Adrienne McShane of Surrey, BC and Zoe Poluch of Brussels, Belgium and his great-granddaughter, Leah McShane of Yellowknife. Don was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Lillian, and by his second wife, Evelyn Rayner. There will be a private gathering for immediate family members.
