HALLIDAY ~ Christine

Quietly on January 11, 2006 in her 91st year. Predeceased by her husband, Jim, Christine is lovingly survived by her son, Bob (Gail) Halliday and daughter, Margaret (Gord) Carr; grandchildren Tannis and Jamie Clark, Brandy (Gord) Dye, Doug and Chris Carr, Lily, Brad and Darryl Halliday; her two great-grandsons Ethan Dye and Kurtis Halliday; her sister, Seren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Christine was born on March 21, 1915 the oldest of five children to Johann and Olina Einarson of Esterhazy, Saskatchewan. After leaving Saskatchewan at the age of 20, she lived in Winnipeg (where she met and married Jim), Vancouver, Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows before moving to the Victoria area in 2001.

Christine's whole life was characterized by caring for and serving others, and a deep and genuine concern for everyone whose life she touched. We are so grateful for being blessed with a loving and gracious mother and grandmother who was such an example and inspiration to all of us. She will be deeply missed.

Our thanks to the many friends and neighbours who have been such a big part of mom's life, especially those at the Meadow Highlands Mobile Home Park in Pitt Meadows. Special thanks also to the staff and residents of the Beechwood in Sidney and to all the caring staff at Glenwarren Lodge in Victoria. All of you have meant so much to Christine and her family over the years!

A celebration of Christine's life will be held at First Memorial Funeral Chapel, 4725 Falaise Drive, Victoria on Saturday, January 28th at 2:00 pm followed by a reception in the Garden Room. If so desired, donations may be made to the charity of one's choice in lieu of flowers.
