The family is saddened by the passing of Cisca, at the age of 97, on October 13, 2019, in Victoria, BC. Pre-deceased by husband Kees (1989). Cisca is survived by her three children, Ben (Shelley), Frank (Seonaid), Victoria BC, and Maryka (Ron), Oliver, BC; by grandchildren Aimee and Burke (Victoria). David (Victoria) and Mike (Abbotsford), and by great granddaughter Ella (Victoria).
Cisca and Kees emigrated to Canada from the Netherlands in 1953, living for a time in North Vancouver, Oyama, and Sorrento BC, before finding their place in Pitt Meadows in 1960. Kees ran Netherlands Nursery in Pitt Polder, and Cisca was a full-time mother and very active in the Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows community (scouting, guiding, Sunday School teacher, etc.) from many years.
Cisca sold the family property in Pitt Meadows in 2001, and moved to Oak Bay, where she lived happily in a little house with her faithful canine companion, Nixie, until a series of strokes obliged her to move to a care home. The family wishes to thank the staff at Mount St. Mary in Victoria who took such exemplary care of her during her last years.
