Clark Maxwell Starrie. September 30, 1942 - October 10, 2013. A mighty heart has stilled. Peace, at last. Surrounded by those he loved and who loved him, Clark ended his long journey through Alzheimer's Disease. Along his way, Clark touched the lives of countless people - friends, colleagues and most of all, family - leaving amazing memories and joy in his wake. When told his past was a “mystery” to his girls, he wrote an incredible document. Over several years, dictating when he could no longer type, he wrote down all he could remember about his life to leave a lasting legacy. He often marvelled at the adventure life became for a kid from the north. From growing up in little northern towns to travelling the world, often on the expense account of IBM where he spent most of his working career! Born in Red Deer, AB, living around Manitoba as a boy, he always called Calgary “home,” even when moving from coast to coast, around the USA and to Australia. He will be remembered and cherished always by his wife, Suzanne, daughters Tina and Tracy (Darren), grandchildren Noah & Madison, sister Benny & her family, the Clarkes: Frank (Vera), Clint (Glenda), Candice (Rick), Kasandra (Don) & their families, Jan & Jill in Denmark, and friends too numerous to count. A private cremation will be held with a celebration of life to be announced at a later time. Please, in lieu of flowers, consider a donation to the Alzheimer's Society or a Cancer fund.
