November 4, 1937 - September 20, 2018
Dave Telep passed away on September 20th, 2018 after a short but vigorous battle with cancer. Predeceased by his sister Fran, he left behind his wife of 55 years, Donna, his daughter Lisa, brother Ralph (Bonnie), two grandchildren, Hannah and Abbey, and a legacy that was larger than he was. Quite frankly, his legacy was larger than life itself.

His sense of humour and wit were so fierce, relentless and extraordinary that it lingered until the end. Regardless of how much pain he was in, or how uncomfortable he got, he could still make you laugh and find it in himself to teach you a lesson or two. Being a boy from Hammond and living in Maple Ridge his whole life, he accomplished so much, and trail blazed for so many. The door to his office was always open to anyone who wanted to wander in and 'bs' with him. It was probably one of his favourite things, and seeing a friendly face walk through the door always put him in his best mood.

I think I speak for all who loved, respected and knew Dave in saying, thank you for giving us and the town of Maple Ridge so much laughter, conversation, roofs over our heads, inspiration and so much more over the years. It can be confidently and effortlessly said that his impact and larger-than-life, authentic existence will be felt for decades to come. When you think of Dave, don't think of him with sadness and tears - he wouldn't stand for it. Share a story or two, have a laugh, and if you're a realtor, go show a house and make a sale. That is how he would want to be remembered; with happiness and celebration for the life that inspired so many of us in such a substantial, unforgiving, unique and authentic way.

See ya later Dave.

By Dave's request, there will be no service.

Donations can be made to the BC Cancer Foundation in Dave's name.
