David Buchan

June 9, 1939 - July 10, 2024

David Buchan passed away peacefully on July 10, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born on June 9, 1939, David lived a life rich in love, dedication, and joy.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Aileen, and his two beloved daughters, Fiona Miller (Dale) and Lorna Harmston (Jason). David was a cherished grandfather to Mackenzie (Izzy), Connor, Paige, Nicholas, and Carly, who brought immense joy to his life. He also leaves behind his dear sister, Rena Bain, and his niece, Cath Robertson (Kris). David is also survived by his lifelong friends Jim and Elspeth Young, and Bert and Mary Jamieson. Missing him from afar are his brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Margaret Morrison, and his niece Wendy Chandrachud (Raman) and nephew Alan Morrison (Laura), all from Scotland.

David was an avid gardener and loved all sports. He was a passionate supporter of the Vancouver Canucks but his true passion was for golf! He was a long-time member of the Maple Ridge Golf Course, where he spent many happy hours on the green.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Maple Ridge Seniors Village, where David resided for the past three years, for their care and compassion.

A celebration of David's life will be held on August 4th at the Maple Ridge Golf Course, 20818 Golf Lane from 12-4 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Canadian Cancer Foundation in David's memory.
