It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of David Wayne Brunn at the age of 83 on Tuesday, September 29, 2020. David was predeceased by his wife of 39 years, Louise Virginia Brunn (Watson). David is survived by step daughter Deborah Copeland (Bill) and Step-son Rob Forrer, Grandfather to Michelle Shahan (Don), Sarah Copeland (Rod), Wade Forrer (Cathy), Mike Forrer (Jeanette), Grace Klassen Belanger (Joseph) and to 8 Great Grandchildren. David was a proud uncle to many nieces , nephews, Great nieces and nephews with a special connection to Linda Dodsworth (Raymond).
David was born January 23, 1937 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. David is survived by sisters Noel, Mardell (Brian) and sister-in-law Danielle Percival (Wayne). David joined the Royal Canadian Navy at the age of 17 serving honourably overseas as a submariner, before returning home to Vancouver in 1959 where he started a lifelong career in iron working that saw him master his craft across the Province of B.C., Canada, into the United States and as far away as Asia. David formed friendships all over the world while working on these projects. David was a proud member of the Vancouver Ironworkers Local 97 of the International Association of Bridge and Reinforcing Iron Workers.
David faced health challenges with bravery and grace, successfully battling cancer twice. David will be dearly missed by all who he touched. David's unwavering love and dedication to Louise is a cherished character trait that all who knew him admired. He will be forever remembered for his natural leadership and mentoring qualities, relentless work ethic and his iconic laugh. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Donations can be made in David's honour to the Canadian Cancer Foundation in lieu of flowers or gifts.
