Stevens, Dawn


Dawn Stevens (Inglis) of Pitt Meadows passed peacefully at the Christine Morrison Hospice on March 15th, 2015.

Dawn was born on November 1st, 1948 in Vancouver. She is survived by her 96 year old mother Joy Inglis, her brothers, Stephen Inglis (Erica Claus) and Dana Inglis (Barbara McKinnon), two children Neil Stevens and Suzanna Sawatzky (David Sawatzky) and their four children Emma, Griffin, Estelle, and Ruby. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews as well as very special friends. She is predeceased by her father Robert Inglis. Dawn grew up in Vancouver and graduated from Lord Byng High School in 1968. After moving back and forth between Saskatchewan and BC she settled in the Fraser Valley.

Dawn is a long time resident of Pitt Meadows and loved to be involved in the community. She was active in Garden Clubs, Quilting Clubs, Walking Clubs, as well as many social clubs. Most recently she lived at the Westbrooke in Pitt Meadows and enjoyed the diverse activities happening there. Always outgoing and kind, Dawn had many friends and touched many lives. She loved her grandchildren immensely and delighted in their company. She battled cancer with courage and grace. She stayed optimistic and found constant joy in life despite the limitations of her illness. She modeled fortitude and bravery to those who were near her. She will be missed. A Celebration of Life will be held this coming Saturday, March 21st 2015 at 3:30pm at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Maple Ridge.
