Debra May Werner (nee Bobiak)

April 8, 2019

July 31, 1956 - April 8, 2019
Debra slipped away peacefully with her family by her side. She faced her illness with courage and a straight-ahead attitude.

Debra is predeceased by her loving mother Faye Stigant (Bryan), Aunt Laurel and Uncle Bruce. She will be missed by her brother Mark (Theresa), sister Pam Andreachuk (Randy), Aunt Dale, son Rudy (Nurdip), grandson Emmanuel, father Stephen, many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Debra grew up in Burnaby BC, enjoying her time with family at "Camp" on Maple Beach. She graduated from SFU with an Honours Degree in Urban Planning. She spent many years excelling at playing racquetball, winning trophies and making friends.

In the last few years Debra was welcomed into the Maple Ridge Seniors Centre where she enjoyed hours of carpet bowling, crib and dominos with many new friends. A stop on the way home for a Timmys Ice Cap was always a must.

The family would like to thank McKenney Creek Hospice for the gentle, caring place we shared Debra's final weeks.

A very heartfelt thank you to Ernie Daykin for facilitating a move to Maple Towers that gave Debra a warm, safe place to live and be peaceful.

Donations may be made to the Cancer Society or a charity close to your heart.

Debra's Celebration of Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Maple Ridge Branch, 12101 224th Street, Maple Ridge on Saturday, 04 May 2019, from 1 to 4 pm. Email Mark for details at mark.bobiak@gmail.com.
