It is with incredible sadness that his British and Canadian families share the news of Des's passing, all too young, from the ravages of cancer.
Predeceased by his loving parents Reginald Frank Sherwood and Marjorie May Sherwood (nee Payne), and beloved nephew Steven Birch.
Survived by his loving first wife and best friend Ruth Sherwood, their children Oliver and Sarah, brother Paul Sherwood (Lyn), sister Sandra Gorrara (Andy), 4 nieces, and 8 nephews, and by his loving second wife and best friend Catherine Vincent.
To all who had the privilege of knowing him Des was larger than life with a wicked sense of humour and big booming infectious laugh that you couldn't possibly ignore. An incredibly intelligent, deep thinking man he was always happy to help with sound advice to friends and family in need, or if physical graft was required.
He was a loving and devoted father to his precious children Ollie and Sarah and considered them his greatest gift to the world. Des was a people magnet but was such a humble man, he never had any idea how loved and respected he was by all those who know him all over the world. To his friends in the Xbox gaming community, Juggler became more than just an online presence, he was a best friend, a father figure, and family.
There will be a celebration of Life in honour of Des 18 November (Saturday) 1 - 4 held in the Amenity Room, 11960 Harris Road, Pitt Meadows.
