Dolores Amado passed away peacefully on Friday, Dec. 20, 2019 at the age of 86 after a 4 1/2 year struggle with Dementia & other health issues. Dolores was born on September 2, 1933 in Portugal. In 1968 she came to Canada where she was married to Manuel Amado and soon after had one son. She had a long career as a nurse's aid serving not just Kitimat General Hospital, but also Ridge Meadows Hospital at Creekside & Alouette, where she did what she loved best, which was helping people. Even after retirement, she spent most of her time helping the elderly at Baillie House and every year would make a Nativity scene at Baillie House, Creekside & Alouette. She is survived by her son Bartho and his wife Heather and their 2 children Brooklyn & Kaitlyn. A Funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2019 at 10:30 am at St. Luke's Catholic Church, 20285 Dewdney Trunk Rd. Maple Ridge.
