DENTON

Donald David

Long-time Maple Ridge resident Donald David Denton passed away peacefully in his sleep to be with Jesus on September 28, 2016. Survived by his wife of 64 years Vicky, his children, Don (Joanne), Diane (Shane), Darrell (Cari), grandchildren Mathew, Tyler, Nolan, Nicholas, Laina, Spencer, Cole and Parker, five great grandchildren, Mark Mitton and Steve Lothian. Don was born June 29, 1928 and grew up in and around Winnipeg. He and Vicky moved to the West Coast in 1953, the year after they married. A long time Canadian National Railways employee, Don took advantage of early retirement and enjoyed annual winter trips with Vicky to Arizona in their motor home. Family, friends, church, gardening (especially his fuschias and roses), morning coffee at the clubhouse and maintaining his vehicles kept him busy in his final years.

A Celebration of Life will follow at 2pm at the Maple Ridge Alliance Church, 20399 Dewdney Trunk Road, Maple Ridge. In lieu of flowers and if desired, donations can be made in Don's name to the Maple Ridge Hospital Foundation in thanks for the care he received from staff at the hospital.
