WHARTON Doreen Johanna

(née Mamer)

Was born in Humboldt, Saskatchewan, and lived a good and decent life. She is pre-deceased by her husband, Wilf, and leaves her children: Sandra, Tom and Calvin; their spouses: Ron, Jill and Lian; and her grandchildren: Chelsea, Thomas, Sean and James, who all loved her, and whom she loved tremendously. She also had many good friends, especially her bridge-playing buddies. Mom had a passion for bridge, an encyclopedic knowledge of the Canadian Football League (especially the Bombers), made the world's best pies and butter tarts, and always had a book to read, favouring mysteries above all. She was a truly lovely person - kind, thoughtful, fair, open-minded, intelligent and witty. Mom had a great sense of humour and passed on to her family her belief that there are two sides to every story. And now she's on the other side of hers. Mom died on December 24 in Ridge Meadows Hospital, where the kind staff of Two West took wonderful care of her. Memorial Service will be held Thursday, January 8, 2009 at 10am at Garden Hill Funeral Chapel, 11765 - 224th Street, Maple Ridge.

We will remember her always, and her spirit will never

leave us.
