April 27, 1923 - June 11, 2018
Elsie McKenzie, born in Port Hammond passed away in Maple Ridge. She was predeceased by parents Robert and Doris Chappell, husbands Bob Ferguson and Stan McKenzie, son Bruce Ferguson and brother Bill.

She is survived and missed by daughter Sherry Ferguson, friend Ken Burroughs, grandchildren and great-grandchildren in Canada and the United States. Elsie was educated in Maple Ridge and started her working career with Marshall Wells. She spent the war years in Victoria as a Navy Wife while husband Bob served in the Canadian and British Navies. After Bob's passing Elsie met and married Stan McKenzie.

She and Stan spent many happy years golfing at various locations in the area and entertaining friends and family at their Howison Avenue home. She and Stan were among the first to move into the new Panorama Seniors Center in 1999. There she became a leader in the CAREGIVERS support group. Elsie was considered "the epitome of a caring person" and will be greatly missed by everyone whose life she touched.
