We Miss You...
It is with shock and sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, nana, sister and friend, Dorothy Anne Osborne. Dorothy passed away on October 24, 2023, two weeks shy of her 81st birthday, and was predeceased by her husband Jim in January of this year, who was her partner and companion for almost 65 years.
Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Debbi and Karen, her granddaughters, Lily and Ava, and her brother Ged (Sue).
Dorothy spent her young childhood living between Vancouver and Cultus Lake, then moved to Kitimat with her family in her early teens.
It was during her high school years there that she met and fell in love with Jim. They attended UBC together, were married in 1965 and then bought their house in Maple Ridge in 1974, where they raised two daughters and loved their two granddaughters.
Dorothy was a warm and caring person who gave hugs generously and created other "families" with everyone she met. From the Oncology unit at Ridge Meadows Hospital to her "Starbucks Kids", she was an adopted mom to many wonderful friends.
