In the comfort of his family, Ed passed away peacefully at Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster. The nicest man in the world will be deeply missed by his wife Elaine, sons Brian (Bonnie), Graeme (Barb), daughters Janet O’Mara (Doug), Lynda Lucas (Dave), grandchildren Brent, Cory, Brian, Jeff, Brad and Jenny, great grandchildren Thomas, Anna, James and Ethan, and Elaine’s daughters Pat, Sherry, sister Kay and their families. Pre-deceased by his first wife Peggy. Fondly remembered by the Larkin family of New Westminster, the Poppleton family of Saskatchewan and relatives in England. Ed enlisted in the RCAF during WWll and served for 28 years. He was stationed overseas during the war in England and India and later served with the United Nations in Egypt. He was based in Vancouver, Edmonton, Ottawa,Chibougamau and Winnipeg. He retired to New Westminster and worked with the City of New Westminster until retiring once more in 1984.


Ed was a very special person – he was known and loved for his kindness and sense of humour. He will be forever in our hearts. A Celebration of Ed’s Life will be held on Tuesday October 14, 2008 at St John The Divine Anglican Church at 21299 River Road in Maple Ridge at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BC Cancer Foundation or the Alzheimer’s Society of BC.
