Marea passed away peacefully at Ridge Meadows Hospital, surrounded by loving family and friends. Born in Vancouver, to parents Olav and Irene. Olav was a gillnetter fisherman and off-season caretaker at Good Hope Cannery in Rivers Inlet, BC from 1940 to 1950. Marea lived year round with her parents at Rivers Inlet, taking school by correspondence. They moved to Haney, BC in 1950 where Marea went to Maple Ridge Secondary and graduated in 1952.
She married Terry, the love of her life in 1961, moved to the house they built together in Thornhill, Maple Ridge in 1963, where she lived for the rest of her life. They had 2 children and greatly enjoyed the country life. Marea and Terry spent 54 wonderful years together until Terry's passing in 2015.
Marea was caring, intelligent, loving, gracious with style, great sense of humor, who always had a warm smile on her face, made friends everywhere, was a marvelous cook and avid gardener. She loved to travel throughout her entire life and was an original partner in the Personal Touch Tours sightseeing company.
She is with the Lord now and back in the loving arms of Terry. Marea left behind her daughter Shannon, son Carl, grandchildren Caitlin and Ryan MacDonald, relatives in Ontario and Norway and many friends she loved dearly. Dr Milewski, Marea cherished you and was so grateful for your kindness.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 11am at Maple Ridge Baptist Church 22155 Lougheed Hwy, Maple Ridge.
