"A man does not climb a mountain without bringing some of it away with him, and leaving something of himself upon it." ~ Martin Conway

Frederick Charles Anthony Scott, a beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend, passed away in the arms of his wife on June 28, 2024. After a long and courageous battle with brain cancer, Fred was called home to the mountains to be at peace.

Fred was born on January 31, 1967, in Vancouver and grew up in Coquitlam where he made many life-long friendships which he considered to be part of his family. Fred treasured his family and friends above all. He will be immeasurably missed by his loved ones who will forever cherish his memory

Fred was a kind, generous, and selfless man who would always have your back. He had an incredible sense of justice and spent his life helping others through volunteer work with search and rescue, in his professional career as a health and safety advocate and later a union representative. He will be remembered for his compassion, dedication, and the strength that he brought to these roles. Fred left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.

Fred was known for his adventurous spirit and love of the outdoors. Whether hiking through the mountains, kayaking in the ocean, camping under the stars, or just out exploring the natural world, Fred found peace and joy in nature's beauty. His passion for this life was contagious, and he shared it with everyone around him.

His love for the outdoors could only be bested by his love for his loving wife Kirsten and his cherished daughter Calleigh. The true lights of his life. Fred was endlessly proud of Calleigh, always supporting her unconditionally in whatever endeavor she chose.

Fred is also survived by his parents, Karen and Tony, his siblings, Sean and Carrie, and many loved friends.

Fred's legacy of kindness, generosity, and love for adventure will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

In accordance with Fred's wishes, no service will be held. A celebration of life will be held at a later date with details to be determined.

To honour Fred's memory, spend some time in nature or consider a donation made to The Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada
