WEST; Frederick William MacKenzie (Bill)
December 6, 1931 – May 25, 2016
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of a much loved Husband, Father and Grandfather, Bill West. Bill passed, holding hands with Marjory and with his family by his side. Born and raised in Vancouver, and later lived in Burnaby, New Westminster, Irvines Landing and Pitt Meadows. Bill loved to help people and was always volunteering time to help with Cliff Avenue soccer and field hockey; as well as track and field and other sports at the Burnaby Heights and McPherson schools where he was a teacher. Bill loved his family and friends and enjoyed the outdoors. He loved to fish, curl, lawn bowl, garden, dance, play cribbage and golf his favourite course in Pender Harbour. Bill was a man of many talents, including carving, wood and metal work, silver-smithing and building his own homes. Predeceased by his sister Jean McDonald, he will be sadly missed by the love of his life, his wife Marjory, faithful canine companion Buddy, daughter Joanne, sons Donald and wife Leslie, Douglas and wife Judy. Bill will also be missed by his beloved grandchildren, Katelyn, Hayley, Lauren, Alyssa and Evan as well as extended family and many friends. The family would like to thank the nursing staff of 2 West and
Dr. Richards of Ridge Meadows Hospital. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation or Canadian Red Cross. A private family gathering will be held.
