Born, Moose Jaw, SK, December 5, 1935 to Sam and Jean Haswell, (nee Shaw). Gary passed peacefully at Ridge Meadows Hospital, Maple Ridge on March 8, 2020 after a long battle with Parkinson's disease and dementia. Gary is predeceased by his sisters, Frances Friesen and Betty Lenson of Saskatoon. He is survived by his son, Greg, daughters Cindy and Chris, and three grandchildren. He leaves behind his partner, Barbara.
Gary retired from Gary's Appliance Service in 2006 after 48 years, serving the lower Mainland and Fraser Valley. When he wasn't working, sports played a large part in his life. Coaching old timers hockey with the Coquitlam Ambassadors and in the summer, senior men's softball and fast pitch. He enjoyed golf, bowling, camping, and travel. In his spare time you could find him with his crosswords, suduko, a good game of crib, and his favourite, old movies.
