In Memory of

GEORGE KREBS

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of George Krebs on Tuesday, October 4th, 2016 at age 79.

George passed peacefully with family present. He will be greatly missed by his son and daughter-in-law Bill & Johanna Krebs, daughter and son-in-law Heidi & Terry McLachlan, daughter and son-in-law Lisa Krebs & Michael Salmon, grandchildren David and wife Hayley, Darnell and wife Becky, Torin, Sasha & Nathan, great-granddaughter Dalia Orleen Krebs, sister Rose Gutting and family, sister-in-law Aileen Hall and family.

George was born in Hungary, and moved to Canada at the age of 16. He lived in Maple Ridge for most of his adult life, until he and his wife Orleen moved to Oliver to enjoy their retirement years. During the twenty plus years he lived in Oliver, he volunteered at Kiwanis and made many very good friends. George was a kind, thoughtful person who lived a full life. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, or to share a glass of wine and listen to music. He was loved and respected by many. He was a great father and grandfather and is already missed by many, many people.

The family takes solace in their belief that George is now resting in peace and harmony along with his beloved Orleen. The family want to thank dad's close friends who "looked out for him" over the last few years. We also want to thank the nurses and doctors that helped care for George in his last days. Especially the palliative care nurses of West Kelowna who provided extraordinary compassion & support.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that any donations be sent to the Alzheimer's Society of BC. When his wife Orleen was diagnosed with the disease, George participated in the Alzheimer's support group, and continued to attend functions after her passing. This was a cause that George cared deeply about.

There will be no service at this time, but a Celebration of Life will be planned for spring 2017. Arrangements in care of Everden Rust Funeral Services (250) 860-6440.
