BAIN, Gertrude (Trudy) Anne
April 19, 1944 - July 19, 2015
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gertrude Anne Bain at the age of 71. Trudy was born on April 19, 1944 in Aberdeen Scotland. First daughter of Gertrude (nee McCaig) and William Bain. Trudy passed away on July 19, 2015 in the Bailey House, Maple Ridge B.C. after a long battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis. Trudy was educated in Brockville Ontario, graduating from the Brockville Psychiatric Hospital School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse Class of 1967. Trudy worked at the Don Jail in Toronto as an RN before moving to BC. She worked at the Maple Ridge Hospital, Maple Ridge Home Care, and the Ridge Meadows Home Support. Trudy was the Administrator and retired after many years. Trudy moved on to Abbotsford Home Support as a Supervisor, where she retired due to poor health. When Trudy moved to Maple Ridge she met her lifelong partner and spouse Marion Thacker for over 40 years. They enjoyed camping, fishing and traveling together. Trudy enjoyed reading, carving and time spent on her computer. She is survived by her loving spouse Marion Thacker, her sisters Laura Finucan (Ed), North Augusta Ontario, Sheila Phillips (Robin) of RR3 Jasper Ontario, and brother Donald Bain (Brenda) of Brockville Ontario, along with many nieces and nephews, cousins and special friends in B.C. and Alberta. The family would like to thank Dr. Mawani, nurses, staff and volunteers of the Bailey House, Hospice and Palliative Care units.
