It is with great sadness that the family of Hanna Gillies announces her sudden passing on April 12, 2016 at the age of 89. Hanna will be lovingly remembered by her three daughters Carolyn Zerr, Dianna (Casey) Veenhof, Cheryl (Jan) Rynierse, son-in-law Bob Marchand; six grandchildren Shelley, Cheri, Brandin, Amy, Adam and Amber; 6 great grandchildren Nicolas, Karina, Emily, Andrew, Hannah and Jayde, four sisters Ruby, Esther, Ruth and Mina; 3 brothers Rangvald, Clarence and Edwin. She was predeceased by her first husband, Albert Sears, second husband Adam (Addie) Graham and third husband William (Bill) Gillies; daughter Donna Marchand and sister Edith Taylor. Hanna was born in Varhaug, Norway to Elias and Ragna Aanestad. The family immigrated to Canada in 1927 and settled in Enchant, Alberta. She then resided in both Calgary and Edmonton, Alberta before moving to Maple Ridge, BC. She will be deeply missed by her family and many friends and all that knew her and she will forever be in our hearts and memories. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at the Ridge Meadows Senior Centre: 12150-224 Street, Maple Ridge, BC at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in Hanna’s name.
