It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Harry Friedrich Hermann Hartwig, who passed away peacefully at the age of 90. Born on March 4, 1934, in Berlin, Germany, Harry made a lasting impact on his family and community.
Harry is survived by his beloved spouse, Monika Klein; his daughters, Kim Boyd and Susan Hartwig; and his cherished grandchildren, Brandon Boyd, Aydin Selcuk, and Jasmine Bowering.
A dedicated civil engineer, Harry contributed significantly to his field. Beyond his professional life, he was a passionate volunteer, giving his time to the Citizens on Patrol program with the RCMP in Maple Ridge. His commitment to his community was evident in all he did.
Harry had a deep love for the outdoors, particularly hiking with his wife, Monika. He also took great pride in his perennial garden, where he spent countless hours nurturing the plants and flowers.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the BC Cancer Society in his memory.
Harry will be remembered for his kindness, dedication, and the love he shared with those around him. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
