Henry Lloyd Pranke, age 66, passed away on May 12, 2021.Henry was the youngest of four children born to Adolf and Lena Pranke. He was born on May 16, 1954, at Whitewood, Saskatchewan.
Henry began his schooling at Wapella, Saskatchewan. In 1969, he moved with his parents to Chilliwack, BC where he completed his formal education. In 1978, he obtained his Welding Certificate at Fraser Valley College. Henry was employed at Haney Iron Works in Maple Ridge, BC and eventually co-owned the business.
Henry's co-workers, employees and the young men who took their apprenticeship at HIW benefitted from his influence as an honest, hard working man of integrity. Two of those apprentices were his nephews, Scott Pranke and Vern Peters.
In 2008, he sold the business and went into early retirement to pursue his dream of owning quiet countryside property, surrounded by the woods and animals. Henry spent his retirement years near 100 Mile House where he put to good use his talents as welder, builder, woodsman and cattleman.
Henry was predeceased by his parents, Adolf and Lena Pranke; his brothers-in-law Fred Jewell and John Peters.
He leaves to mourn his passing, brother Wesley (Val) Pranke of Wapella, SK; sister Rosella Peters of Gull Lake, SK; and sister Helen Jewell of Courtenay, BC.
His nephews, Darrell (Victoria) Pranke and their children Coty and Paige; Scott (Shelley) Pranke and their children Payten and Colton; Vern (Dawn) Peters and their children Bella and Ben; Cor (Shelley) Peters and their children Jenessa, Bryttani (Jonathan) Villalta, and Taylor; Kevin Dyck; and Michael (Anna) Stonehouse.
