September 23, 1927 - July 10, 2018
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Hilda Falke. She passed away peacefully in her sleep surrounded by family and friends. Hilda was predeceased by husband Julius Sr (1999), son Julius Jr (2005), daughter Donna.

Left to cherish her memory are granddaughters Julia (Mikey), Laurie (Jamie), great grandchildren Jenny, Reed, Adam, Stewart, Rachel (Justin), special friends Hanni and Dieter, Gerry and Anne of Winnipeg, MB, Sarolta and Heide of Maple Ridge, BC, plus many others from St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

Hilda was born in a small village called Nogat, Poland. She started her family early in 1944, moved to Canada in 1949, and married her beloved soon after. In 1953 their son was born. She worked hard for many years in the sewing factory and she made shift foreman. When she broke her leg at age 55, she was forced to "retire", LOL.

Her hobby was buying houses. After she "retired" she bought more houses for a grand total of 15. She enjoyed renting and taking care of them. When she and Julius moved to St. Paul, MB, she sold all her houses and built her dream house in 1989. She was her own architect by designing her own blue prints! She was very good with numbers. She lived there until 2006 when she moved to BC after her husband and son died. She enjoyed living with her daughter and son-in-law in BC. She liked being with family and attending church.

She was very generous. She sponsored 5 children overseas with World Vision in BC, plus others when she lived in Winnipeg. She also donated to Operation Smile. Hilda was known for giving things away to friends like clothes and bottles of "medication". She liked to shop and collect dolls.

All of Hilda's wishes and goals of care were honoured. Cremation has taken place. The funeral will be held Tuesday, July 24th, 2018 at 3PM at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 12145 Laity St., Maple Ridge.

A private internment to be held later.

Thank-you to all the Health Care people who helped with Hilda's care and wishes.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Paul's Church or a charity of your choice.

Oma said, "I lived a wonderful life, and lived it my way."

Rest in Peace Oma
