SACHO, Irene Pearl

Irene passed away peacefully in her 88th year with her daughter and three granddaughters by her side. Irene was predeceased by her husband Bill, grandson Nicholas, siblings Bert, David (Doris), Florence (Lloyd), Elsie (Harley) and Hilda (Marvin). Survived by her daughter Lynne (Paul), granddaughters Kristina (Andrew), Teresa (Kevin), Amanda (Chris), five great grandchildren Hannah, Ethan, Benjamin, Nathanael, Charlotte, lifelong friend and sister-in-law Gladys McBride, sister-in-law Terry Sacho and all her many nieces and nephews whom she loved. Irene was born in Beechy, Saskatchewan the youngest child of David and Mary McBride and the only member of her family not born in Northern Ireland. After completing school and teaching in a one room schoolhouse in Tadmore, Saskatchewan Irene moved to BC and worked at Pacific Veneer in New Westminster. In 1956 Irene married her loving husband Bill and the two welcomed their daughter Lynne the following year. Irene was a faithful member of the St. Andrews United Church where she enjoyed her Volunteer work with Wednesday morning Thrift and the Ethel Menzies Group. Irene also enjoyed playing Bingo and would often visit the local casino after running errands in town. Irene was a loyal fan of the Canucks, BC Lions, and the Canadian Curling Team and also enjoyed General Hospital and the Bachelorette. Irene cherished time spent with her family and although she loved her role as Grandma she adored being G.G. to her five great grandchildren. A service to honour Irene will to be held on Saturday February 7th at 11:00 am at Golden Ears United Church 22165 Dewdney Trunk Road, Maple Ridge, BC. In lieu of flowers a donation in memory of Irene to The Canadian Cancer Society (604.877.6040) or The Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation (604.463.1822) would be gratefully appreciated.
