CARR, Isabel Loretta

Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Isabel passed away peacefully at the Baillie House Extended Care Centre in Maple Ridge at the age of 99. Survived by son Thomas (Francina), step-grandson John (Dianna), step-great-granddaughter Jade, and her beloved cats Tabby and Bramble. Isabel was predeceased by husband Arthur (1995) and son David (1948). Isabel was born on her grandparent’s farm in Mission, B.C. and lived her entire life in the lower mainland. She often spoke of a time when almost everything east of Nanaimo Street was either farmland or forest. Isabel married her husband, Arthur on April 8, 1944 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in East Vancouver. Her life revolved around her family, her friends and her church.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, 20285 Dewdney Trunk Road, Maple Ridge, at 10:00 AM, on Wednesday, October 19, 2011. Fr. Amador Abundo, celebrant. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery, beside Arthur. The family would like to thank the staff of Baillie House for all the excellent care and attention they gave Isabel in her final years. In lieu of flowers, donations to Covenant House would be appreciated.
