Nov 13, 1938 - Apr 1, 2018
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James Alastair Brown on April 1, 2018 at the Peace Arch Hospital in White Rock.

Alastair was born in Calgary, Alberta and raised in High River.  His fondest memories of growing up were camping and fishing with his brother and his parents.

In university, Alastair received his degree in accounting, and went on to work in Edmonton, Whitehorse and Smithers before moving to Maple Ridge in 1971.

In Maple Ridge, he and Olga (deceased 1997) raised their family and resided for almost 30 years.  It is also here that Alastair and his partners established a successful and highly regarded chartered accountant practice.

Alastair was a dedicated, hard working, well respected professional and was also an active member in the community.  He was a member of the Lions Club and a long standing member of the Ridge Meadows Hospital Board.

He married Ivy in 1998, and during retirement they lived in White Rock. Together Alastair and Ivy enjoyed travelling and golf, and especially ballroom dancing.

Alastair created a legacy within his family and his community to always do your best, to work hard and always do what is right.   He had great integrity and worked tirelessly to provide for his family and others.

Alastair is predeceased by Olga, and his brother Ian.  He is survived by his wife Ivy, daughter Cherie, sons Jim and Dennis and grandchildren Amanda, Steven, Mackenzie and Jack.

He was a dear husband, father, grandad and friend and he will be greatly missed.

A celebration of life will be held on April 29th at 1 pm at the Pitt Meadows Golf Course, 13615 Harris Road, Pitt Meadows.

Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at Peace Arch Hospital. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation. www.rmhfoundation.com
