HARPER, James (Jay) Donald

May 30, 1925 - July 25, 2010

James (Jay) Donald Harper passed away peacefully at Pleasant Valley Manor in Armstrong BC on Sunday July 25, 2010 at the age of 85 years. He was predeceased by his wife Dorothy in 2008 and one great-grandchild Brian Little in 1996. He is survived by his two daughters Judy (Jim) Heaton of Armstrong, Bonnie (Bill) Little of Maple Ridge; his son Jim (Nancy) Jarmson of Port Coquitlam; his six grandchildren Gina Getson (Craig Galbraith), Chuck (Cheryl) Little, Lorri (Greg) McLean, Kris (Carly) Little, Lesley (Don) MacSorley, and Shelley (Gil) Reubens. Born in Swift Current SK on May 30, 1925. Jay was a long standing employee of School District # 21 and an active member of the Odd Fellows. Jay lived several years on the coast where he was employed with the Municipality of Maple Ridge. Service will take place Saturday August 7, 2010 at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Personal Alternative Funeral Services, 2980 Smith Drive, Armstrong BC. Kelly Grittner officiating. The cremated remains will be interred in the family plot at Armstrong / Spallumcheen Cemetery. Following the interment, a reception will take place at Personal Alternative Funeral Services, 2980 Smith Drive, Armstrong BC. The family has requested memorial donations go to "Coronation Lodge #48" (PO Box 174, Armstrong BC V0E 1B0).
