YOUNGHUSBAND, James Neil

Passed away peacefully at the age of 71 at home on April 30. Loving husband, caring father and awesome grandfather, Neil will be dearly missed by his family and many friends. Neil was born in Melfort Saskatchewan and raised in the Okanagan Valley. After graduating from high school, he attended the B.C. School of Psychiatric Nursing and earned a degree in 1962. His career took him from care facilities in Vancouver to Kamloops and New Westminster. After 35 years of service Neil retired to Maple Ridge. Neil is survived by his loving wife Faye, son David (Andrea)Younghusband, step children Victoria (Wayne) Jackaman, Larry (Heidi) Karsten and Glen (Kathy) Karsten; Grandchildren Chrystal (Rod), Blair (Margaret), Vicky (Brad), Emma (Cameron), Erik, Chelsea and Denver; Great Grandchildren Mason, Larson and Kayden. Neil also leaves behind his brothers Gordon (Camilla), Glen (Jacqueline) and Les (Ruth) Younghusband, sister Lauriel (Joe) Kennedy and sister and brother in- laws Sharon Younghusband, Irene and Gordon Kaun, Angela Paulson, Vaughan and Karen Paulson. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents Norman and Olive Younghusband and his brother Bruce. Neil will be remembered for his kind, loving and generous personality. A memorial service will be held at Maple Ridge Alliance Church 20399 Dewdney Trunk Road, Maple Ridge, B.C. Saturday May 8, 2010 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
