CHMILIAR, Jayme Lee

1963 - 2016

Jayme Chmiliar passed away peacefully on October 3, 2016 after a year-long battle with cancer.

Jayme is survived by his wife Brenda Chmiliar (Warsimage); children Nicholas and Jackson; sister Deb Nikolai (Ken); brothers Rod (Lori) and Tim; niece and nephews Angela, Mark, Ethan and Jordan and great-niece Mara.

Jayme was predeceased by his parents Peter and Lillian Chmiliar.

Jayme was born in Edmonton where he grew up living in the city and on an acreage near Devon. He was a NAIT graduate and worked most of his life in the Food and Beverage industry in a management capacity. Jayme had a passion for Oilers hockey. He celebrated their Stanley Cup victories and was a devoted fan until the very end. His love for hockey enabled him to enjoy endless hours in rinks watching his sons from the stands with the comradery of his extended hockey family.

Jayme was happiest laughing with a beer in his hand and good food on his plate. His cooking and hospitality will be missed by anyone lucky enough to sit at his table.

The family would like to thank the Burnaby Hospital Palliative Care ward for all their care and support. They would also like to thank their Ridge Meadows Minor Hockey family and the Maple Ridge community who helped so much along the way. To the amazing friends and families, there are no words to express the gratitude for all that you have done.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 2 PM at The Pitt Meadows Heritage Hall at 12460 Harris Rd, Pitt Meadows, BC V3Y 2J5.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
