Jeannette Cecile Henderson

August 14, 1940 - April 3, 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jeannette Cecile Henderson on April 3, 2025. Jeannette was born Aug 14, 1940, in Montreal, Quebec to Philippe and Irene Dubois. She was the 11th of 16 children born into the family. She is survived by three brothers and a sister, Jimmy, Bernie, Claude, and Noella.

Jeannette leaves behind a legacy in her Children that include Shirley (Stephen), Tom (Kathy), and Irene (Robert). Her Grand Children including Ammie, Tyler, Troy (Brooke), Jessica (Matt), Caitlin, Alex, Jennifer, and Jordan. And her Great Grand Children, including Laycee, Hailey, Remington, Rylie, Jaden, Breyar, and Kohlson.

Jeannette had many challenges in her life, but she persevered and was a strong believer in family and having time together. Jeanette instilled this in all of us, and our families all remain connected and strong. She enjoyed nothing more than a big family meal and the loud and lively atmosphere that came along with it, including playing games and cards, doing puzzles, and simply seeing everyone together in one place.

Jeannette was hampered by medical issues over the past 30 years, but she amazed us all with her ability to fight through every barrier that life threw her way and continued to enjoy her friends and family. Her strength will continue to be an inspiration to us into the future.

The family was able to visit, enjoy family meals, and work on puzzles with her over the preceding months before her passing, and we know that brought her peace in her final days.

A Celebration of Life will be held on May 3, 2025, 11am - 1:30pm at the Port Coquitlam Legion's Cadet Hall at 2675 Shaughnessy Street, Port Coquitlam.
