May 26, 1937 - May 14, 2024
Jeannine of Maple Ridge BC passed away peacefully on May 14, 2024, in the caring hands of her daughter and son in-law at the age of 86.
Jeannine was fondly known as Jean by most, "Jellybean Jean" by some, and "Anutty Jean" by a few. She was born May 26, 1937, in Victoria BC. She lived on idyllic Salt Spring Island with her parents Luc and Edie and four brothers. Many wonderful memories of her formative years were made. Her remaining years were spent in Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows, and Vernon BC.
Jean was married and began raising a family with the love of her life, Alan Lonneberg, and continued her own after his passing in 1981. Despite many challenges and difficulties, she thrived, proving to be a tough and resilient lady who welcomed many into her home, and heart.
Jean enjoyed creative pursuits such as cooking, painting, and crochet. She was always up for socializing and having fun. She lived her final years at Holyrood Manor in Maple Ridge where she could often be found at bingo, exercise class, or other social events. All with a smile on her face.
She will be dearly missed by friends and family. She leaves behind her sons Steven Lonneberg (Lori), Patrick Lonneberg (Corinne) and daughter Gail Otsig (Greg) as well as 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life/Open House to honour Jeannine will be held 2:00 - 5:00 pm Saturday June 8, 2024 at 17480 Ford Road Detour Pitt Meadows BC.
In lieu of flowers please consider donating to the Dystonia Medical Research Foundation of Canada.
